Healthy Eating ~ Lost ~ 1.2 pounds for a total of 6.6 pounds. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement! I was hoping for at least a 2 pound a week weight loss. Thought that by now I would have lost around 14 pounds.
Working Out ~ Crawling around on the floor and dancing with my grandson
New Plan ~ Just started a program offered through my work called Eat Smart, Move More, Weight Less. This program will teach me the skills needed to change my eating and physical activity patterns. It sounds very exciting!! I am sure that most of the information I already know but it will be presented in a different way. The class is every Monday for 15 weeks. Hopefully this will give me some motivation to do what I know I am suppose to do!!

Even slow progress is good.
The new plan sounds great, always helps to have a little extra support and motivation
Good job. I gained this week and am very disappointed. Started a new plan today - back to the good ol' Weight Watchers. Keep us posted on your new plan it sounds good.
Even though we know the information, it helps to hear it all again and have the support of a group. I hope that works well for you. If you've lost 6.6 pounds you have a good start. It doesn't look like you need to lose too much.
Good for you. It may not seem like much but keep going. It's worth it. I know, I lost 30 pounds a couple years ago. I have gained back 10 pounds this past winter. I am ready to hit it again before it gets out of control again. Keep it up!
At least you are still doing it! I've been so unmotivated it isn't funny.
I though about eating healthier and exercising, but I ran to the couch with a beer and fried chicken until the feeling passed. Scared the hell out of me, too.
you are still making progress...good job. the new program sounds cool. hope it helps!
Sometimes hearing it from someone else really helps and the support will be good too! You are doing so well. Keep it up!
Congrats on your continued weight loss success! Keep up the good work.
Good luck with your new class, and don't get discouraged. Those pounds may feel slow to fall, but they do add up!
It's still weight lost! Keep us in the loop with what you are learning from the program at work, and how you feel about the information they are giving you.
What a great thing your job is doing.. !!!
6.6 pounds is GREAT.. better than gaining..
I've been eating so much that I gained back everything I lost.. the other month.
6.6 is slow and steady.. but GREAT.. very great.. just..!!!
Just like a step to your destination, every little pound is one pound closer to your goal. Eye on the prize.
Taking it off gradually is really the best way to keep it off Gayle! You are doing great!
Gayle, I think this new program will be wonderful for you. 6.6 is still progress. I know sometimes we want it to fall right off....keep us posted. Take care.
Gayle - a loss is a loss is a loss. Right?
Have you ever used a pedometer? It actually motivates you to move more when you can track just how little or how much you're moving.
Good luck with the class!
glad you are staying on track and motivated
me wellll
i did get to work out with my dear hubby at bring your hubby to workout day at Curves last night
wow what a sentence
The program at work will help you stay motivated. I know it is hard. I was also expecting a 4-5 pound loss and I got 2 pounds! We just have to keep at it!
When you don't have lots of weight to lose, it does take longer. I find I need to get into the right mindset and then it is easier to remain a little hungry. It's also good for me not to eat anything late at night, just slow and steady is the ticket.
Congrats on the weight loss. Any loss is a good loss! Good luck with your program. I entered into something similar at my work.
I think you deserve a gold star for the weight loss you have so far. It may not be what you planned on but it is not weight gain, it is loss. And you are watching what you eat and getting exercise too. The Monday classes sound interesting, I look forward to hearing about that.
hang in there gayle. it's SOOOOO HARD to lose weight! ugh. i could lose about 15-20 pounds but it's getting in my head to eat less and exercise. it's a slow process but you'll lose it - just be patient.
and by the way, yes ... the security guard did make Danny and I leave the theatre! LOl! it was so embarrassing for a pair of middle aged old farts LOL
Deb
You're doing fine Gayle and the scales are tipping in the right direction. The work program should really help, it's always much easier when you have group support.
Good that you are staying motiviated And that you have an alternate program to check out. Keep us posted!
Gail,
Please let me know how it works. I am a Kindergarten teacher in a private Episcopal school and I have just gained 12 pounds in a month....ackkkkkkkkk!
Congrats on the weight loss. Sounds good to me. Don't get discouraged...that leads to chocolate. Ha! Hang in there.
sending some good luck to lose more wieght.. and you send some back to me.. I am trying..
You're doing great; keep it up! I'm doing better as far as eating less, but still no regular exercise. My latest excuse is that our main TV is broken so no Wii and no TV to watch while on the treadmill. The work program sounds great.
Just stick with it. The new programs sound great too!
Almost seven lbs is not bad! Just keep staying with it!
Hey Gayle, Don't be disappointed with any weight loss you accomplish. Think of one pound as being the same size as a block of butter, seems more important that way.
Yes, getting out and having a support group around you will certainly get you motivated and you may make some new friends too which is always a nice thing!
Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?
Can someone help me find it?
Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.
Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.
Thanks
