Gayle: thank you for visiting my blog. funny pic and sentiment but I've always thought teachers so lucky to have the time off. I leave on vaca tomorrow and can't wait for 8 days of quiet on a lake. Several months off would be heaven. Of course, I'm not a teacher so...maybe it wouldn't be heaven?
I didn't realize you were a teacher... What age kids do you teach? At least you had some good times during the summer, right?? And you enjoyed your grandson.... I know how you feel though. When I was off work on maternity leave (I took all 12 weeks) I hated going back, lol, I just got so out of the routine.
I don't blame you one bit. I feel like that after just a weekend off. I don't know how many times I've said I should have been a teacher so I could have the whole summer off :)
Throw yourself on the floor and kick and scream. Give a good ol fit. Then put on your big girl panties and keep a truckin. LOL I am sure that leaving the summer fun is not what we ever wanna do. And you know, wouldn't the kids look at us funny if we acted like them?
There was a time--about a year--when I often cried for real about going to work. The place was just toxic. I know you'd like to retire and spend more time with Bryson, but I hope your actual job is not so terrible! All the best.
I work in the School District Office...our favorite line is that if we didn't have the deal with the kids, the parents and the teachers...we would have the best jobs! :)
We have 3 teachers in our family and they are all complaining....daily.
Here is hoping it is an easier transition than you expect. I can imagine after having the summer off and not having a schedule that that will be the worst for you. I will be thinking of you...hugs to you my friend.

It does stink. No one gives you a lollipop to make you feel better either. Hang in!

So sorry for you, Gayle! But must admit, that I'm just a *tiny* bit ready for MC to go back.....

You will be fine and I'd give ya a lollipop if I lived closer. :)
Best wishes to you...and start planning your winter/Christmas break. :)
That is how I feel a lot of mornings going to work. I hope it goes better for you than you are thinking it will.
Lucky you to have all summer off work. I hope the transition back to work is easy for you.

Awww! I hope it's not as bad as all that. I look forward to hearing how it goes. Our anxiety is usually worse that the actuality.
I don't think it matters much whether our "vacation" is all summer or just a week, going back to work always sucks!
Hang in, won't be long til Christmas!!

I know the feeling...I've only been off work 3 days but must don my scrubs and head back later today. I could get used to the life of leisure!
