Years ago the county decided to turn our tree lined unpaved path into a real road. the first step was to bulldoze every tree that was growing on the easement. I cried so much that day.
Why is Nature always the first victim of Progress? The only solace is that, after watching the TV series "Life After People", we know that Nature will always win in the end. Your flowers just prove that!
That's devastating! I think I would have had someone chain me to the tree, but I'm an old Berkeley radical. The flowers are beautiful. You can't keep Mother Nature down for long.
I don't know for sure...but I think I can imagine what the state had to do with this...but the flowers are beautiful and so glad you see it that way. The Grandson is indeed a great fisherman (o:
I'm still sick over the state destroying your front yard and killing those trees you lovingly planted oh so long ago...but the pictures of the gorgeous flowers? Priceless! :)

What did I miss? The state destroyed your front yard?
That is a gorgeous flower.
Godd for you for finding something positive.
Thank goodness it is turning out all right. And that you are moving on, with beauty and forgiveness in your heart.

The flowers are wonderful, and I am glad to see your grandson caught his first fish, that is special indeed.
They are beautiful, even amongst the destruction.
The colors are fabulous!

My mother in law has a flower garden! She's always picking fresh flowers and putting them in a vase in the kitchen and bathrooms, I really love it!
A lesson for us all!

Oh my! What on earth could the State have done? At least they left the beautiful flowers untouched.
