Week #1 Eating Healthy and Working Out

This week was just OK. According to the Wii Fit ( this afternoon), I have lost 2.5 pounds and according to my scale, I have lost 3 pounds. I bet I got on and off the scale 10 times this morning. I finally had to give up or I was going to be late for work. Every time I got on it, it weighed me something different. Even after I hit it several times, it still didn't cooperate!! I think I am going to buy a new one.
This week I ate pretty good and exercised 3 days.

I hate to exercise...It doesn't matter how much I tell myself I love the Wii Fit and I do, I still don't like to exercise.

My weight lose is not what I expected for my first week. Usually I lose more. I am getting older, I tell myself, so I just should be thankful that I lost what I did.

I am sick of this already.

Really I am trying to have a positive attitude.

Yep - Working out sucks.
Yep - Eating healthy ALL the time sucks.

But! Let me tell you - Being skinny and in shape feels AWESOME!

You need motivation. Like a new super cute outfit in the size you are wanting to be.

This sounds suspiciously like a happiness project! Is it? I broke my go to be by 11 rule really badly last night and am paying the price this morning. Ugh.

Good luck this week - I hate weighing right after I wake up b/c I'm swollen in the mornings. SO annoying! And I get on 10ish times too - just to be sure. ;) Unless it's great news - then I take the number and run to McDonald's. Kidding.

Heck, 2.5# is pretty damn good.

I love your bright, bubbly attitude! hehehe

I hate going to work out, too---but once I'm done, I'm on a high and it feels SO GOOD. So I try to remember that when I'm heading to Jazzercise.

Great job on the weight loss! Keep up the good work!!

2/5-3 pounds is great--hang in there! as someone who weighed themselves this morning to find out she'd (she being me) gained two pounds, i'll def. be exercising this week. i don't mind exercising, i just never feel like doing it.

Arrrrghhh stop with the "only" crap right now woman. Did you not read my post about the lbs of butter? Think of 2.5 pounds of butter coming off your ass!

And Blue Zoo is right, you need a motivator. Something to look forward to (besides being skinny) if you stick to this.

I had a fancy scale that was supposed to give your Body Mass Index etc. in addition to your weight. But, like your's, it gave a different weight every time. I bought a cheap scale that lies just as bad, but at least it's consistent!

I think you're doing just fine! Don't give up so soon. It will add up in a month, and it will be so worth it.

I moved the exercise machine back into the living room where I had set up the Christmas tree. Does that count for exercise?

I am with you, exercise blows. But we must, we must!

Great job on the loss!

Good job on the weight loss - think of it in reverse, if you'd gained 2.5 lbs, you would have thought it was a lot. Losing 2.5 lbs IS a lot and you're doing great!

Every little bit helps. As they say, you have to crawl before you can walk. And a mile away is one step closer with each step you take. Let the pace happen. Don't hasten the pace.

You've done better than I have!!! I keep running into obstacles. I love exercise classes like dance and yoga. EAting is still all wrong but I'll get it reined in soon. I think 2.5 -3 pounds is great!

I'm so glad for trails and music in my life. Hiking and dancing happen to be good exercise, and that's a good thing, because purposeful exercise just does not happen.

Congratulations on your success!

Gayle, sweetie... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but until you lie to yourself convincingly enough that you LOVE exercise, it's always going to be a problem. LOL.

It's not my favorite thing in the world either. I skipped it altogether yesterday because I was busy and mismanaged my time. But today I'll do double.

It's hard, especially when it's cold. Do what you can. Make some effort. Do stuff you enjoy. And soon enough it will become part of your daily rhythm. THAT's when it starts getting better.

Don't give up. Every little bit helps!

PS: Weighing became an obsession for me too until it drove me insane. Choose a day for weighing and do it at the same time - naked - every week. Any more and it will discourage you. Once a week only. Got it?

keep it up!! it will becoming habit soon enough and you'll love it ;)

Loosing weight is harder at our age, but I do know one thing — taking it off at a sensible rate usually leads to keeping it off. Good luck and keep up the routine!

i was going to join curves again because i really enjoyed it, but they have closed. :( so i was thinking of getting the wii fit. i am up hours before anyone else in this house so that would be a great time for me to exercise.

have a great day...hugz!

It's normal for your weight to fluctuate throughout the day. Don't rush the weight loss. It seems to me the longer it takes to lose the weight, the more likely we are to keep it off. Concentrate on eating healthy and exercising and it WILL happen.

You're doing fantastic! I've gained as much as you've lost.

!. You don't look like a Gramme! 2. Thanks for stopping by my blog! 3.Its not about the weight loss, its about feeling stronger and more energetic
(I hate to exercise too!)

ReformingGeek said...

Yeah. It's a lot easier to exercise if you actually like it.

Keep thinking of the end result but don't overdo it.

Good Luck!

I think that's a great start! Don't get down on yourself, you are 3 lbs lighter than you were last week and it's only going to get better from here!

2.5/3 pounds is great. I love Wii Fit..Juts don't like the sassy talk I get from it.

Wooo-hooo! Congratulations! I've been using Wii Fit for the past year and a half - love it. I don't use it for weight loss, I use it to keep this 55 year old body firm - and does it ever work! Keep it up, you are well on your way.

It's hard, I know, but you're already doing a great job!! :)

Don't give up!
Will it help to have a walking partner, or a friend who is also trying to exercise? You all can call each other to ask, "Have you exercised today?"
You'll do it! But take your time.

Here's what's impressive to me.... You actually started and you exercised three times! I've been "going to" start for months and still haven't.

So hang in there. Three pounds is impressive in my book.

My first car was a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. It was bright red and I loved it.

Bryson is adorable! Grandkids are the best aren't they?

I have a wii and not a wii fit. is this insane or what

Wow! I can't wait to follow your progress :)

I was so hoping to have a WII Fit by now so I could start a diet and exercise program... but it doesn't look like it will be happening for me until the WII is old and outdated enough to fit my budget... which is pretty small...lol

Good luck to you.. and keep it up... don't get discouraged!
