To Be 6 Again

My daughter sent this to me today!

To Be 6 Again...
Ah yes!!!!!
To Be 6 Again...

A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was
looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he
asked what she'd like to have for her birthday.
I'd like to be six again', she replied, still looking in the mirror
On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made
her a nice big bowl of
Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park.. What a
day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall
of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was.
Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park.
Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal
with extra fries and a chocolate shake.
Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite
candy, M&M's.
What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted.
He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, 'Well Dear, what was it like being six again?'

Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed.
'I meant my dress size.

The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong.

Oh yes, we must explain and make ourselves clearly understood. But the day at the theme park and all the fun sounds great doesn't it?

I totally saw that coming. What a sweet yet out-of-touch hubby. It reminds us girlz to be a little more specific, doesn't it? Not that he could have made her wish come true...

On the other hand, I think the wife got a pretty good birthday out of it, even if that size 6 is further away than ever!

Great post Gayle!

If only every husband were so thoughtful and loving! There is much to be said for trying hard to please the one you love.

Another entry that hits things on the nose... Loving your blog, Gayle. BY the way, if you go back to my entry about my new blog, you will find that I put the link right in the text. DUH. For future reference, if a blog is linked to a person's existing blog, you can usually get to it through the view my full profile. I will make sure of that. In the meantime, as I said, I love YOUR blog.

I have read something similar before and it still puts a smile n my face...but I think we should all get a day to be 6 (in years) again...and have the calories not count.
