I Feel Guilty

Schools and businesses are closed around here because of icy roads.  My youngest daughter and grandson spent the night here last night because her husband is out of town.  We are all iced in together. I have done nothing all day except ~ eat, watch tv, read blogs and play with my grandson.
I feel guilty that I haven't ~ washed clothes, taken down the rest of my Christmas decorations, paid bills and all the many things I need to do. Am I weird?
Don't get me wrong, I have loved every minute of this icy day!

                                       Bryson and his mommy cuddling.

I posted this on my Face Book page tonight so you shouldn't feel guilty.

If you're having "cabin fever" remember all those times you said, "I wish I had time to spend with the kids, play games with my family, read that book, complete that project. Whatever it is, you now have the time, use it wisely.

Guilt is a waste of time. Enjoy the moment. It won't last but bills and laundry will.

gosh. You've nothing to feel guilty about. I do that all the time, ice or not.

I'm glad you had a happy day!

Nope. Don't feel guilty just enjoy your time together. You can't ever get that back.

Guilty over what? Spending time with your family and relaxing? That sounds more like a grand prize to me!!

I love snow days.... it is nice to take a break every now and then.

You did just what you should have done with your day. It was a day to enjoy and remember with no guilt at all.

I did that all last week on my vacation! I have eye strain from spending so much time on the computer and reading!

And since it's now snowing here in Pennsylvania, I plan to do it all again tomorrow!!!

Snowed-in days are one of the great gifts in life. They are rare enough for us, and probably just about unheard-of for you. Congratulations, you spent the day exactly as you should have! Next time you get such a day, do the same, minus the guilt!

I say yaaaaa to days like that, as long as you are warm and snug!

No guilt, Gayle! If I were snowed in with a little one - I would ignore all the stuff I'm *supposed* to do so I could play too. Are you off today as well? Our schools have been out since Monday and continue to be closed today.

Hooray for weather hardships, look what it does for families.

Don't feel guilty at all Gayle! EVERYONE deserves a "down day" and you had a perfect excuse!!! Those chores will be there for you tomorrow and/or the next day! lol

we're FINALLY getting the big blow in the White Mtns now. We need it because we're dependent on ski/XC/snowboard etc tourism. It's amazing out but we have the equipment, sand & salt to combat it.

My husband is stuck in the Florida Panhandle another day because he doesn't want to drive up 95 or through Atlanta. Too much ice & no road improvement.

I say sit back and just enjoy!

What a lovely cozy day! Bryson is getting big, isn't he?

When I get a day like that I feel guilty for about 1/2 a second and then I'm good to enjoy the rest of the day.
Take advantage of the unexpected day off and enjoy :)

You did the right thing....he won't ever remember the house being clean...only the time spent with you. And...we don't get to spend time with our grown daughters that often...just hanging out (o:

Don't feel guilty! Just love hangin' with your family. My mom's snowed in here with us. No grandchildren yet ....hoping for some in 2012. That gives my sons a year to fall in love and get the ball rolling!

Yup, youre weird. lol Dont feel guilty! Snow/cold icy days are play days. Youre NOT supposed to actually accomplish anything! =)

They grow up Way too fast, so just relax and enjoy the 'snow or ice' days!! :-) I didn't get much done at all during the 2 weeks my boys were home over Christmas & new years. Too much enjoying them, cooking and baking! Now last weekend... I got a lot done. It all evens out! :-)

Cute post!!! Glad you're staying home during the bad weather and Off the roads! :-)

What a decadent day Gayle, so glad you did NOTHING. The housework and the bills, sadly, aren't going anywhere. You can get to them when the snow melts.

What a perfect day! The cleaning & laundry can wait. Cookies and Cuddles are much more important!

I had one of those days recently; just stayed in bed and read a book. Dozed a little here and there, too. Just me and the dog. :)
If you get the opportunity again, take it! :)

Gayle,
Guilt does no good for anyone! My minister once told me this anagram for GUILT:

Godless
Useless
Ignorant
Lousy
Thinking!

Enjoy letting the laundry go, the dishes sit in the sink...cuddle up with your grandson and have some precious time with him.

Life is short....eat dessert first is my motto!

The laundry will wait for you. Your grandson is only this age once. Sounds to me like you have your priorities straight.

Sounds like a great day...no need for guilt here! Hope your weather has gotten better!

I love days like that, but I always seem to feel guilty too.

I bet Bryson will remember that day for some time, and that's all that matters.
