One Of My Favorite Places

This is one of my most favorite places in the whole world!! It is a place that I rode my bicycle to when I was living in CA ( wasn't even a teenager yet), a place that most cities and towns have at least one of, a place that I took my girls to once a week, at least, in the summer. I have neglected going to this special place because of blogging and other things. This place will always hold special memories for me!! It's not even the building because the really special one was replaced many years ago with a fancy one. I have neglected this place also by buying books. For many weeks now I have wanted to share this special place with my grandson! I want him to have the same love for it that I have. We shall see! Everyone is different!!

Today is the day..........

I always try to get a library card in the places we live and make it a point to go and check out books. Imagine, free books to read and then return! its pretty awesome, isn't it?? hoping this is the start of many wonderful trips to the library for you and Bryson!

I haven't been to the library in years. I always enjoyed going as a a kid. We have one right down the street from us and I used to take my kids when they were young.

I loved taking M-C to the library when he was small. He loved the story hour and getting to pick out books to bring home. I haven't been in years - may just have to go back...

What a wonderful place the library is! When I was young, my grandparents or parents took me once a week and I checked out piles of books.

In these rough economic times, libraries budgets are being slashed -- it's important that we show our support for our libraries -- such a treasure for our communities!

Did he get his own card? How cute! You know the library is one of our weekly stops around here.

All of my grandkids are regular library users and they love it. They started with story times when they were toddlers and still love to go and bring home books. You and Bryson will have lots of fun.

How wonderful! One of my most memorable experiences growing up was when my stepdad took me to the Los Angeles Public Library. The main branch. It was soooo impressive. Like a shrine. I still think of it that way. Thanks for sharing.

I still remember my first trip to the library. It was so huge. Thanks for the memory.

I didn't go to the library when I was a kid but my entire adult lie has been close association with library no matter how often I moved and no matter how far I had to go to get there. We are about 3 miles to the library here and we love our library.

Kept me in suspense there! I have not been to a library in years. I guess now with the internet, I probably won't be to one any time soon.

Gayle,
You must live close to your grandson. How lucky for you. My granddaughters area five hour plane trip away. I wish I was close enough to make weekly library trips with them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Gayle, I haven't been in so many years. I am not a big reader anyway, but now with computers the generation of kids are missing out. I am sure they still go in school, or at least I hope so. That will be such wonderful memories for your grandson.

Hi Gayle, I love the library too..I could live there! What a great outing!
In answer to your question I think I lucked out with my header on that particular blog style..it just stretches my scrapbook pages to go all the way across. I did not do anything special..I was just lucky..you can change the HTML codes..I used to do that with the old blogger. Hope this helps answer you question. If you want to email me your photo I can try to make you a header too..let me know what colors you like..my email is on my about me page:) Connie

THe library is a fantastic resource to introduce to your grandson. They always have so many children's activities. Just wait until he can have his very own library card!

I haven't been to our library forever. This makes me think I should take my little granddaughter. I think she would love it.

Oh I love that you got to take him to his first trip to the library! I love going to the library. Sadly, many places are losing their libraries due to budget cuts! :(

Every night I read to Bryson and he has been wanting to take books to bed. After his prayers we leave him in his bed reading books.
