Finally we took ~

Bryson to see his first movie and it was ~ Toy Story 3

I was extremely surprise at how well Bryson at 3 1/2 seem to understand the movie. There were several parts in the movie that were sad and parts that would be scary to a young child. During those times Bryson would say "I'm ready to go home." He was very good........laughed when appropriate, sat quietly in his seat, ate his popcorn and drank his drink...........More well behave than many adults!!! According to Bryson it was awesome and I am so glad!!!

Sure sounds like it was a success! Unlike my own 1st movie. "Wizard of Oz" with mom when I was 4. I was ok during the beginning in the black & white portion, but when the house burst into color and crashed on top of those legs and shoes, that was it for me. I started screaming and didn't stop until we were outside! It was a loooong time before my 2nd movie!

His experience was better!

What did you think of the movie? I read a couple blogs recently that adults liked Toy Story 3 very much. Now hubby and I have started with Toy Story 1 on our Netflix queue. He looks like such a sweet little guy in the theater chair with his popcorn.

I love being involved in 'kid's first' activates. Watching them learn and experience new stuff always brings a smile to the old face.

Did YOU like it, Gayle? I just loved it myself and I didn't have the cover of a child with me, just my friend Judy and me in our sixties. We both loved it.

My oldest grandson did not like it at all when he went to his first movie. That of course has changed now. All the others have been like Bryson, loving it from the first time. You got some great pictures of his first movie experience.

YAY! Good times for all! I remember taking Son to his first movie about that age. Finding Nemo. That is still one of my fave movies, cause of the memories of being with Son in the theatre.

Oh that is one I am ready to go see too. I am so happy he enjoyed it. Now when he eventually gets the DVD (yeah they all do) then he will remember. This is the movie he saw on the big screen with Gramme!

That's so awesome. I first movie I remember going to see was Star Wars. I was five. We have always taken the kids to movies and it's such a great experience when they start to understand the jokes and laugh! :D

Yeah! So glad Bryson liked Toy Story. It's tough for a little guy like him to sit through an entire movie. Good for him.

I think mu first movie was SNOW WHITE and I had to be removed from the theater when the wicked stepmother got going. I think she's the origin of the scary woman in the nightmares I've had on occasion for the past sixty years.

You are getting to experience some wonderful times with him. I am very happy for you!

Tell me: did you set your camera on a seat, set the timer and lunge up the aisle? Or did someone take it for you? When we took our two grandkids to see a 3D movie, by the time cokes and popcorn were bought, it came to $88!!!! gasp

I keep hearing so many good things about that movie that I think I need to find a small child to take just so I can see it...

Yeah! I was thinking about the little ones while I was watching it. Parts were pretty intense. Sounds like Bryson handled it well!

Sweet. Toy Story 3 seemed very adult at parts. We took both kids...Jules (3) fell asleep. The first movie I took my son too was Home n the Range at age 4 (I think) at the $1 movie theater and we spent $20 on popcorn and candy.

I did exactly the same thing...took my 3 and 4 year old granddaughters to their first movie and it was Toy Story 3. They loved it, and so did I. Other than a last minutes rush to the bathroom in the middle of the movie, it was great. They're not old enough for the Ramona and Beezus movie, darn! I think that would be a good one also.

Great! Sounds like you'll do it again.
