I could just re post last years and the year before and the year before....Once again we had a big dinner (around 3pm was suppose to be at 1pm) at Gerald's sister Sheila's house. We all take something so no one person has to do too much. Once again certain ones ( no names) left before cleaning up and once again certain ones stayed to do the clean up. I am sure you can guess who stayed.. I want to say something but of course my too sweet husband says no I can't and being the perfect obedient wife...Stop laughing....yes I am......I do as I am told. I wanted to draw names but that didn't work out...Didn't really feel like Christmas just a repeat of Thanksgiving... Hopefully next year we can do something different ( and this is coming from me ...who hates change). All in all it was a great time...everyone was good this year.

The big cleanup from the family get-togethers is always a nightmare.

I usually jump on the dirty dishes first when I'm a guest, to save the hostess some of the work, they really appreciate it.

It's nice to see the generations of your family all together.

Always have to be the dedicated one who helps out!? You were probably a middle child, haha!

Whenever I'm a guest, I always help clear the table, clean up, and do dishes. It's only fair!

Looks like fun.... I seem to recall from earlier times that some of the people who leave before cleanup aren't that helpful when they do stay!

We do the same things every year too but we love it. We always talk about doing something diff next year but we never really do! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What a lovely family you have. I'm always so happy to have company that I don't mind too much if they help. Sometimes it takes me few days to get everything back in place though.

Gayle... I'm feeling your vibe, chica. This year I suggested we do something a bit out of the ordinary for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. But with so many people in our immediate and extended families (some who just cannot travel or afford a eating out), the same old hosting responsibilities fall to the same two. My sister and me. She does Thanksgiving. I do Christmas. Year in. Year out. Gag me. We are so ready for a fun destination holiday, but that would mean abandoning others. Guilt! No can do!

Let's put our heads together and think of something! Then, let's have the courage to actually do it!!!

Thanks inviting us into your celebration! Love the photos!

PS: How old is Granny? She looks amazing!
