Christmas Celebration 2009 #2

Last night we went out to eat with our Long Time Best Friends......Shelba and David. We have known them for about 41 years!!! Gerald and David might have known each other longer. I'm going to have to check on that. Shelba and I became instant friends while in high school. We raised our kids together, living just down the street from each other for several years. Shelba and I can talk for hours and never run out of things say. I am so fortunate that I found her!! and I did find her!! Even though we are not related by blood, we are family!!

Oh you are so lucky, sounds like Shelba is like your sister! Absolutely like family when you have known them so long and have such a nice history with them.

this is so beautiful Gayle. I hope to be able to look back in 41 years and say the same thing about my friends. This is a true best friendship- so very rare. You are family indeed. Happy Monday and I hope you have a fabulous start to your week!

What does a girl do without her friends...especially a best friend!

There is almost nothing better than a true friend like that. You and Shelba are fortunate to have one another. What a blessing to count at this time of the year.

Created family can be just as wonderful as blood relations.

How terrific that you created such strong bonds of friendship!

One nice thing about the holidays is that it gives us an excuse to get together with those folks who we don't get around to otherwise.
And, isn't that great?

Wait one second.....how could have possibly known anyone for 41 years when you appear to only be 29?

"You can pick your friends, but you are stuck with your family." I'm not sure who said that, but it's true nonetheless.

Friends with whom you share a history are the best!

My friends have been there for me more than my family ever has. I'm glad you've got a friend like that.

I can't imagine having friends for that long. My family moved around all my life. So my longest friend has been my husband.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on the autism video.

You remind me of a good friend who finally got her grandson, after babysitting my kids for years.

Thats so sweet. I love how some people can become friends for life after a short period of time.
