My father died when I was 7 months pregnant with my first child. I remember when he was little, he'd question me, and he was so probing and so insistent. I have to say though, that compassionate little ones rarely come from insensitive adults. They feel so much... but they often have to live in a family where their sensitivity is fostered and allowed to be expressed. My guess your little guy's mom is kind of caring, too. Lovely post.
